The Greenbriar Ghost and Other Strange Stories

The Greenbriar Ghost and Other Strange Stories by Dennis Deitz

Well as I mentioned in the last post, I had to take a quick break from At Dawn We Slept. This was yet another book that I got at a West Virginia tourist spot. I had read bits and pieces of it, but not read the entire book. So finally, I laid down and read the entire book. In case you don’t know the story, the Greenbriar Ghost is the story of Zona Heaster Shue, who was killed by her husband and came back to her mother for four days in a row. They exhumed her body and performed an autopsy and found that she had not died of natural causes. She was strangled to death. It is the only case in the U.S. where a ghost helped solve a case. The husband, Edward Shue, was sentenced to life for killing his fourth wife, Zona. That’s the short of it. You can look it up on the internet if you want the full story. The book contains other stories as well which keeps the reader hooked and wanting to finish. I’m glad I finally got to finish it. Rating: *****
