Stephen King Goes to the Movies

Title: Stephen King Goes to the Movies by Stephen King

Category: Fiction, Horror

Review: First, let me tell you that this book had five of Stephen King’s short stories that were turned into movies. I have watched three of them. My favorites so far are The Mangler, The Shawshank Redemption, and 1408. The book contains 1408, The Mangler, Hearts in Atlantis, Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption, and the Children of the Corn. On the outside cover it says ‘Chilling! Thrilling! You’ll Shriek! You’ll Scream!’ We’ll all were horror stories except for Rita Heyworth and the Shawshank Redemption. I do love horror movies and horror stories. Anyway, all of the stories were well written, as you can expect from Stephen King. My favorite of the stories was The Mangler. There is a mixture of paranormal and investigation in it. Also if you notice when you read the five stories together, some things from each story are mentioned in the other. Like Red from Shawshank mentions the folding machine in the laundry room and calls it The Mangler. I think that is pretty cool. Overall, I would read it over again if I had the time. Still want to watch Children of the Corn and Hearts in Atlantis.
