Strong Men Armed

Title: Strong Men Armed by Robert Leckie

Category: Nonfiction, History

Review: This is one of the best books that I have read in such a long while. Strong Men Armed is a book about the Pacific campaign during War World II. It has four chapters and over 500 pages. It covers a wide range of islands in the campaign from Guadalcanal to Okinawa. All the while, taking you through the Marine’s point of view. The book takes you over the different islands and you look through the eyes of the Marines while they take over the islands from the Japanese. The book is so interesting that it’s almost like reading a fiction book. The author was a marine himself, which makes it a bit personal and better for the book. The author was a great writer (died 2001). I definitely recommend this book. You’ll go through it and not want to stop till the end. That’s how interesting it was to me.
