Everything On It

Title: Everything On It by Shel Silverstein

Category: Fiction, Children’s

Review: I don’t often read poetry. It is not my favorite category when I read. However, I do like some poetry ex: The Owl and the Pussycat, Little Orphant Annie, etc… Shel Silverstein is one of those authors who is a really great poetry writer. He combines poetry and comedy to where you just can’t help but laugh when you read his books. Everything On It is one of those books in his collection that you can read even when you are as old as me (i’m 32 šŸ™‚ ). It can be seen as a little mature for some children. I wouldn’t read some of the poems to children under 10, but his poems are generally funny and can be read to anyone. Because of some of his poems in his books, I found out that he is on the banned author’s list. What?! Whoever thought this needs to be smacked. Read this book even if you don’t like poetry or don’t read it often. You’ll get a laugh and want to purchase some of his other books which are just as funny.
