A Life in a Year: The American Infantryman in Vietnam

Title: A Life in a Year: The American Infantryman in Vietnam by James Ebert

Category: Nonfiction, History

Review: This is such a great book about Vietnam. It is told through the infantryman’s eyes. There are plenty of eyewitness accounts in each chapter and you get to see what the men were thinking about while they were in Vietnam fighting the war. I don’t recommend it for younger audiences, because there are plenty of curse words, which you would expect from men who were fighting the war for us. As the book is titled, it takes you through a year in the infantryman’s life in the field in Vietnam. I just loved reading it. Every chapter had accounts that did make you sad and made you realize that their lives were not easy back then. Read it. You will love it.
