Leningrad

Title: Leningrad by Michael Jones

Category: Nonfiction, History, World War II

Review: I loved this book! This book will keep you reading and will keep you interested from the beginning. As the book is titled, it is about the city of Leningrad, during War World II and in particular, during the Battle of Barbarossa. The author takes you from when the Germans basically planned to take the city and to the end, when the siege was over and they recaptured it. What I loved most about it was that the author had a lot of same people in the different chapters and you find out their different thoughts. You can’t help being so emotional during the entire the book because the book reveals the thoughts of those who were starving. It reveals the process of starvation in a city and that there were so many people that died. If you are a history buff, like me, you will love it! If you aren’t and just want to start reading a little about history, this is still a great book to read.
