Yellow Brick War

Title: Yellow Brick War by Danielle Paige

Category: Fiction, Young Adult

Review: Well it turns out that this book does not end the Dorothy Must Die Series. I have to wait for the next book to come out, which I don’t know when that will be. 😦 If you wish to read my reviews of the first two books, go here for Dorothy Must Die and here for The Wicked Will Rise. So anyway, let me give you a short summary of the book. I don’t want to give to much away, but here you go: When we last left Amy, she was in Kansas. The Wicked have asked Amy to find the silver shoes that Dorothy once wore when she was brought back to Kansas (in case you haven’t read the book, which I’m sure most of you have, Dorothy’s shoes were silver, not ruby.) She has to go back to her mom and to high school where the shoes are supposedly at. In the first book, we find about her relationship with her mother and a girl in high school. She finds out that her mother has changed, but doesn’t trust it completely. The girl from school has become an outcast and also a friend to her. While searching for the shoes, she gains a new enemy, the Nome King. He wants to control Amy and the shoes. Amy finds the shoes and ends up taking the Wicked back to Oz. They wind up at the Tinman’s old palace and a battle ensues there. After that, they return to the Emerald City and finally Amy confronts Dorothy again. Dorothy is finally defeated and Ozma (the true ruler) is restored to power. However, the Nome King is still an issue and they haven’t resolved that yet. This series is truly addictive. I am so looking forward to the next book. I definitely think you should read these books. You’ll love them.
