Title: Semper Fi Vietnam by Edward F. Murphy

Category: Nonfiction, History, Vietnam War

Review: Well everyone, I finally got finished with Semper Fi Vietnam and I can tell you that I was not really impressed with this book. It’s not that the author didn’t do his research or have great information. I believe it was the tone of the book. I just had such trouble picking up the book and wanting to keep reading it.

This book covers ten years of the Vietnam War. It starts in 1965 and ends in 1975. The chapters are divided by years and for the most part this is a story about the Marines and their journey in Vietnam.

The author noted several occasions of bravery by different men and different operations that occurred during each year, but for some reason, I just couldn’t keep interested with the book. Even though it is a relatively small book, it took me a few months to read it because I kept losing interest in it.

However, if you are interested in a review of the Vietnam War, especially from the side of the Marines, this is a good book for you. Definitely give it a shot. However, don’t buy it if you are just looking for a read. It might take you a long time to read.
